General Information
The Belgian
Sheepdog is an elegant, well-balanced, square dog that carries
its head proudly. It is highly intelligent, graceful,
agile, and devoted to its owner.
As a member of the
Herding Group, a Belgian Sheepdog is also an active dog,
requiring regular exercise and/or a 'job.' Besides herding, the
history of the breed includes service as war dogs and messenger dogs.
Today, Belgian
Sheepdogs are active in conformation, agility, obedience and herding
competition. They work in herding, SAR, and as therapy and
service dogs. These dogs get much enjoyment being with
their owners, participating in many activities.

Welcome to FOLKLOR!
Folklor
Belgian Sheepdogs
had its beginnings in the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania, in the
early 1990's, with Lori Mann. Lori selectively bred for
temperament and structure. Her dogs earned multiple titles and
are continuing to do so. More importantly, her dogs became
cherished companions to their owners.
We are proud to say that
the Folkor name will now be continued here in Southeastern Pennsylvania,
where we are honored to continue the kennel name and lines of these
beautiful dogs. Our goal is to promote dogs of sound
temperament, correct structure, and good health.
Currently, we share our home with two Belgian Sheepdogs, Kadar
and Kash, here in suburban Philadelphia. We train regularly at
Suburban Dog Training Club and thank the trainers and
members there for their
continued guidance. We are also active members of
Raritan Belgian Sheepdog Club
and members of
Belgian Sheepdog Club of America.
We are
forever happily indebted to Shannon & Randy Chilson of
Kadar Belgian Sheepdogs, in Sayre, PA, for their support and friendship and for
bringing us into this wonderful world of dog sports. They bred
our Kadar .
We
hope you enjoy the pages here and thank you for visiting our
