ROCKY

January 1994 - May 17, 2007

aka "Rocky Balboa," "Rocky Raccon," "the rockster" and" the old man"

Rocky came to us through the outreach of Delaware County SPCA. He was very ill and his former owner could not care for his medical needs.

Through the hard work and generosity of volunteers in Belgian Sheepdog Rescue, Rocky received the medical help he needed and began to slowly return to the majestic dog he once was.

His blood work indicated he was getting healthy, but he continued to lose muscle mass.  Three veterinarians agreed that the only way to tell what else was affecting his system was to do a biopsy.  Unfortunately, he was not a candidate for such, as he could not withstand the anesthesia.

So, Rocky spent the final weeks of his life sleeping on a big soft bed, going for morning walks and romping in the backyard with our Kadar.  (The old guy still had an interest in the ladies.)

When he finally left, I believe he found his former mistress awaiting him at the Rainbow Bridge.
